When most people think about the global acting superstar that is Brad Pitt, they
see nothing more than an immensely good looking body (I'm a man and even I can
admit Brad Pitt is good looking!) and a charming yet mysterious attitude. It is
not surprise that he has become a global phenomenon and one of the biggest movie stars
of all time, as he could most probably get the lead in almost any film based on his looks alone,
and the fact that most women would go to watch that film just to see him move about on screen with his shirt off.
I do believe that Brad Pitt does have some quite considerable acting talent,
however, and I feel that much of his talent is pushed to the background because
people focus so much on how he looks rather than how he acts. The first film where
I really realised how well was 'Fight Club'. In this film he plays Jack (aka the Narrator's)
alter ego. He is supposed to be the main character's 'cooler' side, and he plays this role
with such conviction and authority that no-one can argue.
Pitt's role in the movie 'Snatch' is a polar opposite to 'Fight Club', since he plays
an Irish pikey (a pikey is the English slang word for a gypsy or traveller). Pitt's
use of the blurry Irish accent in this film is masterful, and he plays this role to
perfection. So next time you hear about Brad Pitt's apparent lack of acting talent,
realise that you shouldn't believe everything that you hear!
